MEET OUR STAFF
Mrs. Tresa Rast – Principal
Tresa joined the staff as Head Teacher and Co-Director for the preschool program in August of 2013 with the goal of creating a primary school where all children are honored and respected for their potential, capabilities and humanity. She feels blessed to be part of a strong, warm and caring community here at Resurrection. Her background includes an undergraduate degree in Education from Santa Clara University and a Masters in Teaching from Lewis & Clark College. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Educational Leadership. She has taught preschool through third grade for the past twenty years in both public and private schools. She currently lives in southeast Portland with her husband and three sons. Outside of school, she enjoys cooking, reading and clothing design.
Mrs. Maya Bashoury - Parish & School Business Manager
Maya serves as the Business Manager at Resurrection Parish and is the mother of two beautiful daughters. Maya was born in the Middle East in Lebanon and moved with her family to Portland Oregon several years ago. She first joined Resurrection as a parishioner and then joined the parish staff to serve as the business manager. Maya has a background in law, is multilingual - speaking four languages and worked in the finance sector of several companies. She is grateful to serve the Lord while providing her expertise to our parish and school community.
Mrs. Stephanie Clark - 1st Grade Teacher
Stephanie was born in Southern California and moved to Wilsonville, Oregon when she was 13. She attended the University of Oregon for her bachelor’s degree, where she met her husband, Zach. She later received her Master of Arts in Teaching from Concordia University. As a way to spend more time with her children, Mia (8) and Ben (6) Stephanie has spent the last 8 years substitute teaching in the West-Linn/Wilsonville School district, which has included long term positions in second grade and as a Title 1 reading teacher. She has also worked as a private tutor, helping k-8 students gain the skills and confidence they need to become successful and confident students. Last year, Stephanie joined the first grade team at RCP as an assistant teacher and she fell in love with the community. Now that her own children are in school full time,, Stephanie is ready and eager to return to the classroom full time. The Clark family currently live in Wilsonville and in their spare time they enjoy traveling and exploring all over the state in their travel trailer.
Mrs. Mary Esterline - 2nd Grade Teacher
Mary was born in the Bay Area and then moved to Phoenix where she attended Catholic school. She moved to Lake Oswego with her family when she was in the 7th grade.
She attended PSU and earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and then George Fox for her Master of Arts in Teaching. She has two kids, Josh and Jane, who are both in college. Mary has worked with young children since she was in college. After getting her Masters in Teaching she worked at PCC Sylvania, OES, PPS, Sunny Hills Preschool and is now thrilled to be at Resurrection Catholic Primary! She loves working with children and building relationships with families. Her interests include reading, art, tennis, exercise, music, travel and spending time with friends and family.
Mrs. Ashley Dhar - Kindergarten Teacher
Ashley is a native Portlander who brings great energy and passion to her work with children. Ashley attended University of Arizona and graduated with a Master's in Elementary Education. She has taught kindergarten through second grade in both public and private settings and especially enjoys teaching children to read. She began teaching at Resurrection Primary in 2020 after being home with her young children. Ashley met her husband Gautam in 2009 and they settled here in Tualatin with their two children, Matthew and Maya, and golden retriever Tucker.
Mrs. Amanda May-Hainley – Head Teacher 3's Class
Amanda was born and raised in a small town in Oregon and currently lives in Estacada with her husband, David, son Andrew, daughter Elizabeth and Labradoodle Sawyer. She has been teaching preschool for over 10 years and was an integral part of opening Resurrection in 2013. Amanda loves working with children and watching them grow as they learn. She has been recently trained in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori approach to the Catholic faith. She enjoys working with all of the children in the school in the atrium weekly. In her free time, Amanda loves hiking and camping throughout Oregon with her family and friends. She also loves doing craft projects with her daughter.
Mrs. Krissy Fillis - Head Teacher Pre-K 4's Class
Krissy Fillis was born and raised in Portland. She currently lives in Tualatin with her husband, Dave of 23 years and her 2 kids Brandon (19) and her daughter, Abby (15). Krissy has been working with preschoolers for over 20 years. She has a background in literacy intervention, training in Reggio Emilia, extensive training in Love and Logic, and experience with special needs children. She and her husband were Children's directors and Krissy also directed a girl's program at her church for elementary aged girls. She has worked at Clackamas Christian Center, Circle of Friends Preschool, Sunny Hills Preschool and enjoys being a part of Resurrection Preschool. In her spare time she loves to vacation with her family, play tennis, make cards, watch her daughter dance, house projects, and volunteer at church.
Mrs. Tasha Galbraith - Head Teacher Pre-K 4's Class
Tasha grew up in Corvallis and then became a Duck at the University of Oregon, there she met her husband Greg and received her degree. She then went on to Webster University in Missouri for a Master's in Teaching with a focus in Early Childhood Education. Through the years, she has had the joy of working with preschoolers through high school and is grateful to be back working with young children and the Resurrection community. Gardening, musicals, tea parties, messy play and spending time with family- especially her daughters, Natalie and Olivia are some of the things she loves.
Mrs. Kathy Weeks - Assistant Teacher
Kathy grew up as an Air Force “brat”, moving all around the U.S. and graduating from high school overseas. She returned to her parents’ home state of Oregon for college and has lived here ever since. She taught elementary school in the Beaverton School District for seven years before having her own children. While they were growing up, she worked various jobs (including teaching four-year-olds at Wildwood Preschool and working most recently as a para-educator in Beaverton). She’s also spent many hours volunteering in Portland Public Schools. Kathy reviews children’s books for a national magazine and enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Jim, are the parents of two young adults. This fall, the family cats will have to stand in for the kids now that the ‘nest’ is empty. Kathy is looking forward to being part of the welcoming, caring Resurrection team and getting to know the community!
Mrs. Jessica Borders - Assistant Teacher
Jessica grew up in Oregon. After college, she taught preschool at two Catholic schools, worked as a nanny, substitute teacher and stay at home mom. She feels that working with young minds and spirits of our future is a true joy. Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, Rich and their son Jonah (6). In her spare time, she loves reading, photography, traveling, baking, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Jessica is excited to join the children, staff and families at Resurrection!
Mrs. Melissa Matheson - Assistant Teacher
Melissa was born and raised on the peninsula in the Bay Area. She moved to West Linn during the fall of 2020 with her husband, Travis, daughter, Madilyn, and two Australian shepherds, Charlotte and Cheyenne. Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, and baking. Melissa graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences, Preparation for Teaching and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. Melissa previously taught in the Archdiocese of San Francisco for nearly two decades before moving to Oregon. She is excited to be back in Catholic education at Resurrection Primary.
Mrs. Jen Albertini - Assistant Teacher
Jen grew up in Spokane, Washington and settled in Portland, Oregon after meeting her husband while attending college at Santa Clara University. Jen studied Psychology and Art Therapy and is enthusiastic about working with children and sharing her passion. Jen has four children, spanning preschool to high school. She is a product of Catholic schooling and values the warm, faith inspired environment that Catholic education provides. Jen loves to cook, run, and vacation with her wild bunch!
Mrs. Jennifer Tabor – Assistant Teacher
Jennifer (Jen) is native to West Linn and pleased to continue to call it home. She is married and has two kids, Madelyn and Henry, and two rescue dog huskies named Diesel and Poseidon. Her free time is spent enjoying the Tualatin River and she enjoys cooking, traveling, exercising, photography, architecture, being with friends and family, and the outdoors. Her family also enjoys auto racing. Her husband and daughter are rally drivers and her son drives Spec Racer Ford at Portland International Raceway. She is honored to be working with children at Resurrection Catholic Preschool and considers it an exciting chapter to her life!
Mrs. Erin Thekkedom - Assistant Teacher
Erin grew up in Gladstone, OR, and earned a BA in physical education from Western Oregon University. Erin lived in the Bay Area and worked as a fitness specialist and dance instructor. It was here that she met her husband, Victor. They moved back to Oregon in 2007 to be closer to family. Erin went on to earn a Masters in Teaching in Physical Education/Health Education from Concorida University. During that time Erin taught PE to 1st-8th graders at a private school in Vancouver, WA., then went on to teach high school PE and middle school Health. Erin has been at home for the past 9 years with her two children, Nya (8) and Kiran (6). She enjoys traveling with her family, and is an avid runner.
Mrs. Kathleen Wendland - Assistant Teacher
Kathleen has been in education for 20 years, working mostly with K-4th grades. She has a love for the arts and enjoyed working with the kindergarteners last spring at Resurrection. She is married to Bob and they have three "kids" (ages 31-26). She feels lucky to have two of her children living on the West coast; the youngest lives in New York City - a fun place to visit! She and her husband enjoy hiking and exploring and Kathleen enjoys taking photos along the way.
Mrs. Brianna Gilmore - LifeKids & School Development Director
Brianna was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. She attended college at Santa Clara University where she met her husband Kellen. After graduation she lived in San Diego for a year and worked as a permanent substitute at Santa Fe Montessori school. There her passion for teaching was ignited and she moved back to Oregon to attend the University of Portland and received her Masters of Arts in Teaching. Brianna taught Third Grade for five years in the Gresham- Barlow school district. After having her first son, Grady, Brianna decided to stay home. Since then she has had three more children all of whom have attended Resurrection School. She has been an active member of the Resurrection since she was married there 14 years ago and is currently our new Life Kids Director at the parish. She looks forward to serving this community and helping to bridge the families of Resurrection School and Parish.
